Without any income and relying purely on savings means we are travelling on a budget. It is very important that we keep a track of our money and not do any major purchases…which is why we went to a pricey all you can eat sushi restaurant when we arrived! We had both been craving sushi for a while and this restaurant had it all, including an iPad which you could order food from in batches of 12 every ten minutes. We left very full and happy!
Day 1
Our hostel is surrounded by trees, hills and autumnal scenes so our first activity was to explore everything around us. After a little bit of exploring and remembering the money we spent last night we decided to be more frugal for lunch…which meant we went back to the sushi restaurant! (To be fair, the lunch menu was reduced, so it’s justifiable…right?!)
The waiters recognised us and also acknoweldged the 5* review I left on Google. Eleanor states that this will definitely be the last time we go there. One of the negative side of this hostel is that there is only one washing machine and dryer which meant we had to wait a long time to use it and wait a long time for the dryer to do it’s only job. Not the most exciting of evenings but necessary! Tomorrow we are going to the Luxembourg City History Museum to learn a bit more about the city.
Day 2
Today we went around the City of Luxembourg museum, a bargain at
€5 a ticket and one of the most interactive museums we have been too. The enormous lift took us to the original foundations of the building with portraits that came to life, an immersive 360 degree room and touchscreens which were transparant, something I’ve never seen before. For dinner we did NOT have Sushi and instead went to a Vegan Indian restaurant.
Next stop, and our last European stop, Amsterdam!
