After a restless overnight coach from Venice we arrived in Strasbourg. It is such a beautiful place and after the very crowded and flooding Venice it’s been a really peaceful and relaxing couple of days. So relaxing that I haven’t been writing daily for this post so this will be a short one!
Most of our time in Strasbourg has been spent exploring and looking at the architecture…
As this is a short post I’ve summarised a couple of highlights below:
1) Strasbourg has a Waffle Factory! This is our favourite restaurant (more fast food but the word “restaurant” makes me feel less guilty) in Brussels and we were delighted
2) On Sunday evening we went to see the palace Rohan but this was hindered by the presence of the French and German Presidents. Every street we walked down was blocked to the point that we gave up and went home!
3) On Monday we wanted to visit the European Parliament, a short 40 minute walk away. When we got there visiting times were only on Saturdays at 3pm. Like our future relationship with the EU, we were stood outside of the gates only being able to look in!
4) Petite-France is not where Google says it is! Walking around it is how I imagine Disneyland would imagine France to be like. Almost like ‘The Good Place’ designed a French afterlife and made it “too French!”
5) I have finally starting to feel chilly…no more shorts and t-shirts! Well until New Zealand…
Next stop…Luxembourg!
